Fresh Start: A Halfway House for Men

Fresh Start is a residential halfway house run by Recovery Services of Northwest Ohio, a non-profit (501c3) organization. Fresh Start opened in 1987, serving five residents, and has since grown to a 16 bed capacity. Fresh Start provides long-term alcohol, drug and mental health treatment in a tranquil, rural setting and gives residents a safe place to recover and learn to make lifestyle changes.

The population of Fresh Start is diverse and residents are required to accept responsibility for shared household duties. Fresh Start allows residents to work together toward a common cause – recovery. Upon completion of a stay, individuals are better equipped to live a life free of drugs and alcohol and are on the road to a state of mental well-being. Residents are linked to after-care counseling close to home at the conclusion of a stay at Fresh Start.
